What does Satan’s war against the Word prove?

The 27 books of the New Testament have withstood the intense scrutiny of God’s enemy, and are vindicated by his actions. Whichever humans wrote the books, is irrelevant. They are the true words of God.

When people argue about the validity of the New Testament, they often forget that there are ‘scholars’ who know the minutest details of the Bible.  The best informed of them all is obviously the Holy Spirit, the ‘Author’ of Scripture.  He knows God intimately, ‘The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God…no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.’1  The Holy Spirit’s testimony about God’s thoughts and plans in Scripture is completely reliable.

#  There is another eminent ‘scholar.’

He studies the Bible in the greatest detail, because he has a very good reason to do so.  He is the world leader who controls the whole world, ‘We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one.’ 2

#  The person we are talking about is the devil.

As the ruler of the world, he is the archenemy of God, the deceiver and liar. 3  For his rebellion against God, he was sentenced to the lake of burning sulphur at the end of this age. 4  Therefore he hates God and Scripture.

#  Why the devil hates Scripture.

  • It explains that he caused suffering and death to come into the world.
  • It explains his failure to overpower Jesus by killing Him on the cross.
  • It warns people against the destructive work of the devil.
  • It foretells his grim future of eternal torture in the lake of burning sulphur.

#  If the devil can prove that God lied in Scripture, he knows he can escape hell.

The Holy Spirit says, ‘But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars – their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulphur.’5 Any mistake in Scripture, any untrue fact, anything that can disprove God’s integrity, will vindicate the devil.  He can just tell God that liars are not in heaven.  So if Scripture (God speaking) is not true, God is a liar, who cannot be in heaven.

#  The battle against the Bible is the test

If Scripture is not true, then God is not in heaven.  Then the whole Scripture falls apart: no heaven, no hell.  Then there is no reason for the devil to wage war against the Bible.  Yet his war against the Word (using among others, ‘scholars’) is very real, especially in the Western World.  So the war against the Bible (which is not a dangerous book) proves that Scripture (including the New Testament) is true.

#  The devil’s witness is that the Bible is true.

Because God is truth,6 the devil knows the argument about the human writers of the New Testament is a useless argument, designed only to lead people astray, away from Scripture, straight to hell.

Conclusion

The devil has a vested interest in disproving Scripture.  He cannot do it, but he carries on with his evangelisation for hell.  The 27 books of the New Testament have withstood the intense scrutiny of God’s enemy, and are vindicated by his actions.  Whichever humans wrote the books, is irrelevant.  They are the true words of God.

As you can see in the photo, there are two of us. We live and work together 24/7, studying and enjoying our grandchildren. Our passion is to know and understand what will happen after death. Is there a way to provide for and invest in that?
