An outsider’s take on America

It is interesting to observe what is happening in the United States of America.  The question I, an outsider, not an American citizen, but very interested in the news from there, ask myself is, do we have a repeat of the Tower of Babel? Genesis 11:1-9

The people who migrated after the great flood in Noah’s time, travelled east and decided to build a city,

‘Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves and not be scattered over the face of the earth.’  Genesis 11:4

Note that at the basis it was opposition against God’s instructions:

  • They refused to fill the earth as God commanded.
  • They desired to make a name for themselves, not honor God.
  • They began to build a tower that will reach the heavens, God’s dwelling place.

In short, it was rebellion against God.  What was God’s answer?

‘Come, let us go down and confuse their language, so they will not understand each other….  So the Lord scattered them from there all over the world, and they stopped building the city.’  Genesis 11:7-8

Do the words ‘division and destruction’ depict what is happening in America?

Two other words are ‘confusion and scattering.’  Jesus warned,

‘Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand.’  Matthew 12:25

Conclusion

Nobody denies that there are millions of serious followers of Jesus in America.  The Church in America has been a blessing all over the world for many years.  Despite that, the division, confusion and destruction of Godly values in America is serious.

As we observe, from an imperfect nation, what does Jesus expect?  Prayer for our leaders so we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.  1 Timothy 2:1

As you can see in the photo, there are two of us. We live and work together 24/7, studying and enjoying our grandchildren. Our passion is to know and understand what will happen after death. Is there a way to provide for and invest in that?

  1. As an American, it feels very strange here now. In the last several years, a lot of people, even professed Believers, seem to be brainwashed. At the most basic levels, a lot of people have lost the ability to care about anything unless they are told to… but when they do care it’s mob-like.

  2. The American Constitution is probably the most valuable asset the American people have. It has always had the effect of pulling them back on track whenever they go astray, as they have in more recent times.
The constitution is constantly under attack, no wonder when considering its foundation. I was compiled by a group of Godly men of who were if not Pastors, were in possession of theology degrees. Record has it that there are over 1200 scripture sitings within the words that frame it.
Yes the thought of Americans making plans to go to Mars does remind me also of Babel Gerard.
We must bear in mind that they have recently been hood winked by some of their most trusted leaders, and have fallen prey to large scale blinding fear that has distorted their view of what has been going on. This was instigated by a diabolical plan of darkness designed to break down everything that is good, that has upheld their unity for centuries.
At the end of the day Jesus is coming with a sword in His mouth that will reveal and burn every lie from the face of the Earth, and He will rule with a rod of iron. Let us hold onto that.
    Blessings
