4 Reasons not all people will be saved

The motive behind the idea that all people will eventually be saved is basically love for the lost. StalinIt must not be confused with the wrong Bible teaching of ‘once saved, always saved.’ The message that all people will be saved, implies that there is nothing to worry about. Do what you like, because God will never ever send you to hell. This warped message is not spread by unbelievers who don’t believe in God or the Bible anyway.  People who call themselves Christians believe and preach it.

What does it imply?  It means that Stalin, Mao, Hitler, Pot Pol and others like them, will all live eternally with God in His paradise. One can almost hear the indignant cries of New Atheists and people like Lawrence Krauss, Richard Dawkins, Michael Shermer, PZ Myers, Jerry Coyne, Sam Harris and many others, who hate God with a passion. They don’t want to ever be seen in God’s presence, because they find Him disgusting, nauseating and awful.

Why is the whole idea that all people will be saved ridiculous?

  1. God wants a peaceful, happy family to share life with Him eternally. His Kingdom will be the perfect Kingdom. The reason why God’s Kingdom will be a success is because He is perfect. Jesus’ followers have learned to love and obey Him, the prerequisite for a Kingdom of peace.
  2. All people have to decide before death what to do with Jesus. This side of the grave, people show whether they love and obey the King. It is called the concrete principle: a person’s attitudes and deeds go with him to the grave. What you are here, you will be there.  Our deeds tell God what He can expect of us in eternity: loyalty or rebellion. At the big judgement the loyal and rebellious will be separated.
  3. Stalin is an example of someone who rejected God. Did he know about God? Yes, because he went to a theological seminary. Did anything compel him to reject Christ? No, he decided it by his own free will. Stalin’s deeds prove that he did not love or serve God. He condemned millions of Russians and Christians to Siberia, shot many in his purges, relentlessly fought against the Church and burnt Bibles. Is it logical that he will be in the Kingdom of God with Paul who gave his life for Jesus?
  4. Is there no difference between those who love and those who hate God? If there is no difference, it is a waste of time to accept God’s gracious offer of forgiveness through Jesus; a waste of time to obey God; a waste of time to seek God; a waste of time to be filled with the Holy Spirit; a waste of time to invest in God’s Kingdom. Then God sent Jesus to be killed on the cross for our sins for nothing.

Conclusion

If God wants to be irrational and unfair, He will save those who hate Him. However, Scripture is clear. The devil won’t be saved, and neither will his human followers. By his own free will the devil rebelled against God, and many people follow the way of the devil. God never overrides man’s free will, and the decisions people make on earth will be respected by God in eternity. Only people who responded to God’s call will be saved.

As you can see in the photo, there are two of us. We live and work together 24/7, studying and enjoying our grandchildren. Our passion is to know and understand what will happen after death. Is there a way to provide for and invest in that?
