Who we are and why we’re here

Greetings

My name is Gerard and my wife of 44 years, is Alida. We live on a small farm outside Pretoria in South Africa.

The main reason we blog is concern for our fellow human beings. We live in a strange world. Many of us are surrounded by the most modern appliances and gadgets that are constantly improved. They should greatly benefit our societies.

Yet, despite the veneer, life is uncertain. Rebellions, coups, corruption, crime, addictions, marital infidelity and immorality wreak destruction. Nevertheless there is hope in the promise of a future perfect society. It is in the future so that all people, of all eras, have the opportunity to become part of it.

The idea of Utopia has been with us for a long time. Yet, despite the wonderful new world that we can become part of (with many benefits this side of the grave), large segments of today’s society and many countries oppose it.

By now you probably know that we mean the new heavens and earth that the Bible tells us about in Revelation 21-22. It is the hope of a better life to come and it gives the Bible great personal value. That makes it the most precious book of all times, even if it is often misunderstood.

So our aim, mission and hope is to be able to:

• Help people to better understand this wonderful book;
• Help people to invest in this wonderful security village that will last forever;
• Interpret the many attacks against it. There is scarcely a country that ever existed that didn’t have an enemy. God’s country also has a personal enemy, with great influence. This enemy indoctrinates people to reject the Bible, God and Utopia.
