Do you make the mistake to believe the devil’s lies?

The world we live in today generally hates God.  It promotes material success, to live for yourself, do whatever pleases you and that you can disregard the Bible because it is full of mistakes.

Yet truth and reality as Jesus revealed it, includes the invisible world and life after death.  2 Corinthians 4:18b says, ‘…what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.’  In this blog we want to show that we don’t need to believe the devil’s lies about God and Scripture.

#  God has an enemy.

  • Most leaders, kings, presidents and prime ministers throughout history had enemies who tried to topple them and foment unrest.
  • God’s enemy is the devil, Satan, that ancient serpent that leads people astray with lies about the Bible, God and His eternal Kingdom. 1

#  Scripture reveals Satan’s character.

  • Cain was the first human being who belonged to the devil.  He refused to listen to God, murdered his brother and went out from the presence of God. 2
  • ‘Satan rose up against Israel and incited David….’ 3
  • ‘For we wanted to come to you – certainly I, Paul, did, again and again – but Satan stopped us.’ 4
  • ‘Those who oppose him [the teacher of the truth] he must gently instruct, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, and that they come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil [Satan], who has taken them captive to do his will.’ 5

#  Satan’s deceptions in the world

  • The devil has mounted a massive propaganda offensive to keep people away from the truth and convince them that God is an illusion.
  • He promotes other ‘gods’ like aliens and UFO’s, the church of the Jedi, Zen, alternative ‘spiritualities,’ witchcraft, or whatever.
  • He presents an alternative creation account to Genesis 1.  It is the ‘creation account’ of the world.  It explains that all things came from nothing and go to nothing.  Therefore there is nothing to live for since there is nothing after death.  What a massive lie!
  • The devil encourages the activity of atheists and other groups or organisations to hate a God they have never seen.

Conclusion

What we see in the world shows us that there is an invisible spirit who lies about God and Scripture.  People on their own cannot keep a war against the unseen God going for ages.  The world shows us what the Bible tells us, ‘As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient.’ 6  The many ‘strange’ ideologies that people embrace should strengthen our faith that the Lord and His Revelation, the wonderful Bible, is truth.

Is demon influence relevant in our age?

The Freedom from Religion Foundation plans to hand out a Temptationpamphlet entitled ‘An X-rated Book: Sex and Obscenity in the Bible.’  This latest ‘campaign’ has a picture of an animated Bible attempting to rape a girl (if one goes by the intention of the FFRF).

The idea behind the pamphlet is not particularly new. It has long been the goal of the FFRF to portray the Bible and God in the worst possible way. When the truth is attacked, it is necessary to use lies, and this particular circular is evidence of it. What are we to make of it?

We know from the Bible that God’s enemy, the devil, is a liar. He influences people against Jesus and Scripture. The demonised man in the synagogue at Capernaum asked Jesus, ‘What do you want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are—the Holy One of God.’1  This man must have been an ordinary member of the Jewish society. How would he know that Jesus is special, the ‘Holy One of God?’ The Bible tells us that he was influenced by an evil spirit (the opposite of the Holy Spirit). The spirit talked through the man.

So when we meet people who are particularly interested in bashing the Bible and all that goes with it, we see the work of an unholy spirit. The goal is always the same: insult, malign, abuse, oppose and hate, mainly God, Jesus and Scripture.

In the Western world, especially, there is a sustained attack against the Word of God, called Bible Bashing. This is very strange, because they tell us the Bible’s message is nonsense. Who has ever seen a person who walks on water, increases bread and fish, makes himself equal to God, is crucified on a cross, and later rises from the dead? It is pure myth, the writings of a few primitive sheepherders and fishermen. Logically nobody should be concerned about a mythical book.

Yet for some reason they cannot leave the Bible alone. Whether it is the FFRF, the New Atheists, the Skeptics and hundreds of other similar organisations, they have one thing in common: they don’t like Jesus of Nazareth. They attack Him and His Word, organise conferences, and produce books, pamphlets, DVD’s, etc to deride Him.

Why is that? If He is supposed to be non-existent; if evolution is true and there is no supernatural Creator, and therefore no Messiah, the war against the Bible doesn’t make sense. That is, unless one sees it in the light of the demon who influenced the man at the synagogue. The devil is the enemy of God, and he has many angels (demons) who help to influence people against God.

Let’s look again at the FFRF.  Dan Barker is part of the team. As an ex pastor, he passionately hates God, and regards it as his duty to relieve the world of the burden of the gospel. He demonstrates the eagerness and zeal of the apostles of hell, influenced by evil spirits. It is the same with all the vicious, hateful, shouting atheists. They hate God and demonstrate how the demons inside them react.

Conclusion

Many people think the Bible is an outdated archaic book. Yet it is very modern. It even explains the reason for Bible Bashing.
