How society should change if evolution is true

The beginning and development of the universe and all life, we are told, was through natural evolution.
No churches if evolution trueIt was a random process that took millions of years. Yet we are assured that it is a scientific fact. Evolution is the exact opposite of supernatural creation where God planned it all with a purpose and did it in 6 days.

If evolution is true without a shadow of a doubt, society should have changed in the following ways:

No amount of creation make-belief will convince Christians that the Bible is true. They will realise that there is no God, Jesus, or Holy Spirit. Churches would have closed a few years after Darwin published his book in 1859. So it was unnecessary to train ministers and evangelists. Theological colleges closed. Theological books and Bibles were burnt or recycled. Former ministers  of the Gospel changed to whatever job they found, because there were no active churches.

There will be no debates between hated creationists and highly trained evolutionary scientists (it will save a lot of time). Scientists will be able to concentrate on science. There will be no evolutionary biologists and geneticists. They no longer need to vindicate Darwin, because he triumphed, and evolution is as much a fact of life as gravity.

People like Richard Dawkins will be jobless, because there will be no need to evangelise for atheism. All people will automatically, by default, be atheists. ‘Religion’ will not be an issue. So nobody will write books that there is no God.

Museums won’t need to organise and display special programs to teach evolution. National Geographic won’t need to make nature programs to ‘sell’ evolution to the masses. Organisations like the National Centre for Science Education that protect evolution against criticism, will not exist.

Oh, it will be so wonderful without a God. There will be no more terrible wars by the Christians, and no more persecution of honest evolutionists who are harassed by ‘creationists.’ 1 There will be no problems, crime, or anything that disturb the peace and happiness in the atheistic Utopia. People will just live and enjoy a life without accountability.

This scenario has not arrived, so maybe evolution is not as true as they want us to believe. In the meantime, Bible believers are urged by atheists and evolutionists not to despair. Christianity is a faith without evidence, while evolution has evidence. The Bible teaches that what you say about others, might apply to yourself.2  In this instance it is very true: it is not Biblical faith that is without evidence (the Bible is history written down by eye-witnesses), evolution is a faith in things that no one has ever seen. It is without evidence.

Question: If evolution is a fact, why does it regard Biblical creation as its enemy?

  1. R Dawkins, The Greatest Show on Earth, Bantam Press, 2009, p 15, ‘The plight of science teachers today is not less dire.  When they attempt to expound the central and guiding principle of biology; when they honestly place the living world in its historical context – which means evolution; when they explore and explain the very nature of life itself, they are harried and stymied, hassled and bullied, even threatened with loss of their jobs.’
  2. Romans 2:1, ‘You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge the other, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things.’

Why is God invisible?

People are interested in the lives of film stars and other important people.
Seek the LordThey follow them on Twitter and Facebook, read articles in magazines and watch films and TV programs in which they appear. So why does God not appear to people today, so that they know He is alive and well? Why can we not see Him regularly as individuals, or in cities, provinces, countries, and continents? Why is God invisible?

There was a time when God did appear visibly on earth in His Son, Jesus, but He has a reason why He does not show up time and again to prove His existence. To follow God, we need to know who He is, what His standards are, how He wants us to live and why. So He talks to us in a book that is the same for all people everywhere. It is a very special book, because the Holy Spirit who inspired it, knows God through and through.1

We need the Holy Spirit to guide us when we read and study the Bible, because it is not like a textbook. It is ‘scrambled.’ The information on a topic is not all in one place. It is scattered throughout the 66 books. The Bible works a bit like Google and other search engines. You discover a rich new life when you search for God and His ways in His ‘search engine,’ the Bible. Blessed are they who … seek Him with all their heart.2

There is another benefit when you get knowledge of God through the Bible. We live in an imperfect world of evil, crime and murders. God helps us to understand things that happen in our lives which are sometimes baffling. We need knowledge about God’s ways: Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord.3

To summarise:

God is invisible, but all people across the globe can ‘see’ Him in His book, illuminated by the Holy Spirit. Since the Bible reveals God, it has many layers of insight and complexity, so we will never be bored studying it. There is always something new, and people thrive on new ‘stuff.’

The Bible has 66 books, all designed to encourage us to understand different aspects of God’s character.

God wants to know if we will remain loyal to Him, even if He is not visible now.  David gave this advice to his son Solomon, …acknowledge the God of your father, and serve Him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the Lord searches every heart and understands every motive behind the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will be found by you….4

People who are interested in God, will read what He has to say, ask questions and investigate Scripture to learn more about Him and His way of doing things. They will invest in the Kingdom of God by studying the ‘Prospectus,’ to know what the CEO is like.

Question: Is it possible to know and understand God if you don’t study Scripture?

How Darwin’s tree of life might help you overcome God’s tree of life

Charles Darwin drew a diagram of a ‘tree’ in his book, On the Origin of Species (1859).
Darwin's tree of lifeIt famously illustrates the process of evolution. A tree grows from seed. So the seed of Darwin’s tree was the first living organism. From it all the other life forms like microbes, plants, fish, birds, mammals, et cetera, evolved.

The Bible first mentions the Tree of Life in Genesis 3:22. The Lord said, ‘The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live for ever.…’  We next read about the Tree of Life in the last chapter of Revelation. On each side of the river stood the tree of life…. in the New Jerusalem.1

Darwin did not discuss the beginning of life (the seed of the tree) in his book. Later he speculated that life could have begun in some warm little pond. How do evolutionists today explain the beginning of life?

One way is the famous Miller-Urey experiment of 1953. Stanley Miller did the experiment to prove that life evolved from dead elements. It produced a few chemical substances, but there is a chasm wider than the Grand Canyon between dead and living atoms or elements. To take a few elements and believe that a living organism will pop out of it, is a fairy tale. Yet this experiment is still included in almost all biology textbooks.3

In the same year, 1953, Watson and Crick discovered the structure of DNA (the carrier of genetic information). It revolutionised the understanding of living organisms: no life can exist without the genetic ‘instruction manual.’  A few substances heated in a test tube, like the Miller Urey experiment, cannot produce life (this is where science becomes the enemy of evolution).

DNA resides in the very small nucleus of each living cell. It is like a written code, with a decoder included. Human experience tells us that a code, like computer language, does not evolve by itself. It needs someone to design and write it. Even if we accept the fallacious idea that we evolved from some common ancestor around 6 million years ago, there is no evidence that the very complicated DNA code can evolve.

What does this mean for evolution? Where did the seed for Darwin’s tree of life come from and who wrote its ‘instructions?’ Scientists are hard at work to find a solution. The search is on, the problem of first life must be solved, but they won’t concede that life comes from God. Anything goes, except the Creator.

People started looking up. Not to the Creator, but to the stars. They realised: the answer is in the planets.5  Many people look to the stars for guidance, so why can’t the planets guide us to the solution of first life? The problem has not yet been solved, but fear not, the planets will have the answer.  In the meantime, just believe that evolution is true. After all, logical, reasonable people have no problem to believe, by faith, that Darwin was right.

Question:  Evolutionists believe only in matter. DNA is is not matter, but information, so it is non-material.6  What are the chances that Darwin’s tree of life will help you overcome God’s tree of life?
