Can evolution and creation by God be mixed?

In the Church there are teachers, lecturers, pastors and lay people who accept that evolution is science. HS inspired Bible, not DarwinSo, for them, Almighty God used evolution to create in six days (sorry, 600 million or more years). Can supernatural creation and natural evolution be mixed together?

To answer the question, let’s consult the expert in evolution, Francis Ayala who said, It was Darwin’s greatest accomplishment to show that the complex organisation and functionality of living beings can be explained as the result of a natural process – natural selection – without any need to resort to a Creator or other external agent…. The scientific account of these events does not necessitate recourse to a preordained plan, whether imprinted from the beginning or through successive interventions by an omniscient and almighty Designer….1

The title of his essay, Darwin’s Greatest Discovery: Design without a designer, says it all: there was no need for the Creator God. End of discussion. Natural selection (the creative ‘arm’ of evolution) happens naturally. It needs no assistance from God. In addition, evolution has no goal and no purpose. It just happened. It is the complete opposite of God, who designed the heavens and the earth for a reason, for a purpose, for an eternal Kingdom.

Now that we know Darwin banished God, why do some believers claim that God used evolution? The Bible is very clear, Ah, Sovereign Lord, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you.2 People in the church believe that God used evolution (even if they are incompatible) because of the persistent propaganda of evolutionists. They label people who oppose evolution as science deniers and backwoodsmen.

The truth is the opposite. There is a paucity of proof for evolution. One rejects science if you believe evolution and then become a backwoodsman. As we will discuss in subsequent blogs, it is important to be aware of the facts of creation and evolution when you belong to a church. God says in Jeremiah 23:1, ‘Woe to the shepherds who are destroying and scattering the sheep of my pasture,’ declares the Lord. In a sense, we are all pastors and teachers. We should be careful not to lead the flock astray.

God has an enemy, the devil. He influences anybody willing to listen to his lies. One of his favourite questions to deceive people is, ‘Did God really create in six days?’ To mix God and evolution is not a solution. It is an insult to the omnipotent Creator. There is a price to pay for insulting God, If anyone is ashamed of Me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in His Father’s glory with the holy angels.3

Jesus affirmed that God is the Creator. ‘Haven’t you read,’ He replied, ‘that at the beginning the Creator made them male and female.…’ 4 Actually, Jesus Himself was the Creator.5

Conclusion
There is no compromise possible between the Creator God and Darwin. Darwin excluded God as Creator. Evolution destroys God’s omnipotence.

Question: What do you think?

The riddle of life’s origins

Darwin’s tree of life is vital to the idea of evolution. Biological life must have a beginning. The riddle of first lifeWithout it, can one claim that evolution is true? No, why would it be? It is the same with the Bible. If God did not create in Genesis 1, why would the rest of the Bible be true?

Our planet teems with plants and living organisms. The claim is that it all evolved, but how did the first living organism evolve naturally on earth? It is the quest of many evolutionists to solve that riddle. Have they succeeded yet? No, but they assure us that they are working on it, as they will for the next 100 years. Why? The problem is the genetic recipe, or code (DNA). It is present in all life forms.1 Without the genetic recipe, there can be no life.

The riddle of the genetic recipe is to prove that it all evolved naturally. Why is it impossible? Present day principles give clues about the past. Lipton gave a clue, namely inference to best explanation (IBE). It means that if one sees tracks of a peculiar shape in snow, one can infer that somebody with snowshoes recently passed by. Past causes can be inferred from present effects. 2

From present experience we know that only intelligence can design a recipe. For example, experience shows that a natural event cannot systematically arrange letters into a meaningful book. Only people with intelligence can do that. So we can infer that an intelligent cause must have produced the genetic recipes. According to the Bible, that source was God.

This is naturally completely unacceptable to evolutionists. They accept only natural causes. According to them, a natural event ‘produced’ the code. So there is a relentless search for natural origins. The question is: if experience shows that only intelligence can write recipes, why will it be different with the genetic recipes? That is why we say they will never succeed. The premise is wrong: natural chance events cannot produce intelligent codes.

Is there evidence that they are near to a solution? No, but there are plenty of suggestions:
deep-sea thermal vents, the Miller-Urey experiment, white or black smokers, volcanic sulphur, floating pumice, thermal hot springs, RNA world, comet shock waves, panspermia (life from outer space), et cetera. 3

What does it mean if the riddle of the origin of life has not yet been solved? It means that people accept evolution is a fact, fact, fact, without the basic evidence.4 That leads to evolutionism, a faith based on what Darwin supposedly proved, but never did. This faith is kept alive by massive propaganda and laws that prohibit criticism of evolutionism.

What does this have to do with the Bible? Just this, nobody has yet solved the question of who created life. The Bible tells us who did. The Creator God.

The myth of the talking snake

The talking snake in the garden of Eden has puzzled many people. Genesis 3:1 reads, Talking serpentNow the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?” What are we to make of it? Accept ridicule, or investigate Scripture?

There are reasons to believe that it was not a snake (serpent) that spoke, but an intelligent personality that spoke through the serpent:

  • Revelation 12:9 identifies the serpent. The great dragon was hurled down – that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. If the serpent of Genesis 3 deceives the whole world, it was not an ordinary snake, but the devil himself.
  • Why would a physical serpent enquire about God’s words, as the snake did in the garden of Eden? The ‘serpent’ told Eve that God lied.1 When Eve believed the serpent and obeyed him, it lead to catastrophic results.
  • The words of the ‘serpent’ are the standard ploy to make people doubt God’s Word. The devil (in disguise) still asks, Did God really say? For example, did God really say He created the universe and all life in 6 days? No physical snake would be interested in that.
  • We read that God spoke through a donkey,2 (see Balaam and the talking donkey https://6days6thousand.wordpress.com/2014/03/24/balaam-and-the-talking-donkey/)

Scripture teaches an important principle: God and the devil speak to people through a physical being. In these cases it was a serpent and a donkey. Usually it is through people. At the time when the devil came into the garden, there were no other humans through whom he could speak. He chose to do it through the snake. The reason we know it is not a myth is that questioning God’s Word has been a standard ploy through the ages.

Today it is not necessary for God or the devil to speak through animals. God speaks through His people, and the devil through his. God’s people root for heaven, the devil’s for hell. The devil will eventually be ‘jailed’ in the lake of burning sulphur, where he will be tortured day and night.3 He does not relish the thought. So, bent on revenge, he wants to trap as many people as he can to join him in hell. The Apostle Paul entreats that [people] will come to their senses and escape the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.4 Bold ours.

Conclusion
The drama that took place early in history, still reverberates as people deny the Book of Truth and pledge allegiance to the serpent (the devil).
