The Holy Spirit’s function

The Triune God is one in essence, three in Person (see Why a Triune God?).  God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit lived eternally in love, relationship, unity and fellowship.  Yet they each have their own function.  Let’s begin with our need for the Holy Spirit:

#  If not for the Holy Spirit, we would not have the Bible.

  • ‘All Scripture is God-breathed…..’ 2 Timothy 3:16
  • ‘…but God has revealed it to us by His Spirit.’  1 Corinthians 2:10
  • ‘You [God] spoke by the Holy Spirit through the mouth of your servant our father David….’ Acts 4:25

#  Jesus sent the Holy Spirit (the Spirit of Truth) to guide and teach us.  So we should expect nothing but the truth from Him when we read the Bible.

  • ‘But when He, the Spirit of Truth comes, He will guide you into all truth.’ John 16:13

#  Through the Holy Spirit those who belong to God, are in constant communion with Him.  Even in the coming age the Holy Spirit will be with the Bride,

‘The Spirit and the Bride say….’  Revelation 22:17a

Conclusion

‘No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him — but God has revealed it to us by His Spirit.’ 1 Corinthians 2:9-10

As you can see in the photo, there are two of us. We live and work together 24/7, studying and enjoying our grandchildren. Our passion is to know and understand what will happen after death. Is there a way to provide for and invest in that?
