The Presidents

The previous president of our country (we live in South Africa) stands accused of misdeeds.  He has been summoned to appear in a court of law.  Yet for years he has used every legal option possible in an attempt to evade the courts.  If he was innocent, he would have no fear to give an account of what happened under his watch.  Bottom line, he does not want to be investigated.    

Similarly the situation in the United States of America is very revealing.  Though not citizens, we observed the election of the president.  The Democratic Party won.  Yet the Republicans claim election irregularities.  If the Democratic Party is innocent, as they claim, they logically should have no qualms to allow the issue to be investigated properly.  Yet that is not what happens.  For outsiders, it seems as if they do what they can to stifle any discussion about it.  Why?  Is it because they have something to hide?  Bottom line, the president does not want to be investigated.  

There is however, another ‘President’ who wants to be investigated.  He is the Lord God Almighty, about whom, among others, it is written, 

‘He (God) is the Rock, His works are perfect, and all His ways are just.  A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is He.’  Deuteronomy 32:4

He wants to be investigated.  That is why He gave us all the dope about Him in His book, the Bible.  That is why Luke wrote, 

‘Therefore, since I myself have carefully investigated everything from the beginning….’  Luke 1:3a

We want to follow the example of Luke and carefully look into the God Case.  And come to a conclusion.  For the express purpose as defined by Luke, 

‘….so that you may know the certainty of the things you have been taught.’ Luke 1:4
