Why am I here?
Only one authoritative book, the Bible, answers that question.
Many people think that the Bible is only about Jesus who saved our souls. That is true, but it fits into a bigger picture. It is important to understand the big picture, so that we will understand how to answer the question.
God in His brilliance gave us a very clear ‘picture’ of what the Bible is about, so that we can know where we are heading.
We find the central theme of the Bible at the beginning of God’s ‘program’ in Genesis (man and woman in close fellowship with their Creator and each other, in beautiful surroundings) and the finish of His ‘program’ in the last book, Revelation (the King is on His seat of authority, His throne, surrounded by His people. They live on a beautiful, new piece of real estate, formerly known as Planet Earth, Revelation 21:1-4; 22:3).
The summary of God’s main plan is:
The Creation of a Nation
Our universe will not die a heat death, but will be destroyed by a massive fire. Then God will create a new heaven and earth.
On that new, special planet earth, God will live eternally with His people in what is known as the Kingdom of God. We will discuss later that Jesus who died on the Cross and was Resurrected, is the central pivot around which it all revolves. If Jesus was not resurrected, there can be no Kingdom.
This present earth will experience a ‘switch:’ ‘The kingdom of the world has become the Kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ, and He will reign for ever and ever.’ Revelation 11:15. That is the nation (or Kingdom) the Bible keeps talking about (a King, a country and a people). S
So why am I here? To decide whether I want to be part of that Kingdom.
God invites you to become part of His Kingdom, or nation.
