Take Bible criticism with a pinch of salt

When you accuse God that the Bible is full of errors or that He is a cruel tyrant, there is a very important principle to remember.  In everyday life, countries cannot charge somebody for a misdemeanour if there is no law book or constitution to base the charge on.  The same applies to the Constitution of God, the Holy Scriptures.  If you do not know the Law Book of God, the Bible, your accusations are baseless.  This brings us to the very significant problem that God’s Law Book, the Scriptures tell us about:

#  The Bible has an invisible Counsellor, the Holy Spirit.

‘…the Counsellor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.’ 1  People who do not have the Holy Spirit are at a tremendous disadvantage because they don’t have a Guide to explain the Scriptures.

# No Holy Spirit, no comprehension

Scripture declares, ‘The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.’ 2  Nobody who attacks God or Scripture has the Holy Spirit. 3   The reason is simple:

#  The Bible was inspired by the Holy Spirit.

‘Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation.  For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.’ 4  The Holy Spirit inspired Scripture and He helps those filled with the Holy Spirit to understand the Bible.

#  Conclusion

Be very careful when you hear agnostics, skeptics, humanists, atheists or ‘theologians’ claim that the Bible is wrong.  Without the Holy Spirit (which they definitely do not have), they will jump to the wrong conclusions.  Whether it is Richard Dawkins, Lawrence Krauss, Bart Ehrman, Dan Barker, or whoever, if we scrutinise the passages they quote, we will see the flaws in their arguments.  However, they do us a service.  Their criticism forces us to study the Bible more closely.  The end result is that our faith is immensely increased because we understand how wonderful Scripture is.

As you can see in the photo, there are two of us. We live and work together 24/7, studying and enjoying our grandchildren. Our passion is to know and understand what will happen after death. Is there a way to provide for and invest in that?
