  1. Greetings, and thanks for your comment.
We can understand that the Catholic Church said that evolution is true in the 70’s. Science was not that advanced then. In the last 20-30 years science has advanced at breakneck speed. DNA, epigenetics, the ATP machine, biochemistry, etc, has conclusively proven that evolution is impossible. Science has turned traitor on evolution. Darwinian evolution is dead, and it is only by propaganda that it is still taught as true. That is personally why I think it strange that the Catholic Church continues to affirm evolution.
    Blessings.

    1. Your description of science couldn’t be much further from the truth if you tried. Since the 70s we’ve found a mountain of evidence in support of evolution. Just look at the human family alone; where we’ve discovered tens of thousands of fossils (representing at least 6,000 individuals) linking humans and chimps. And that’s not even mentioning the literally billions of stone tools that show a progression from chimp technology to that of modern humans.

Obviously going through all those findings would be exhausting, but I’ve discussed some of my favourites on my site

      1. Adam, thanks for your comment. From our side, the following:
Your description of science couldn’t be much further from the truth if you tried. Since the 70s we’ve found a mountain of evidence in support of evolution.

What is your definition of evolution? Is it change over time, or Darwinian evolution: common ancestry and subsequently the evolution of all life from one original ancestor, which supposedly evolved by chance, maybe in water (the ‘molecules to man’ version)?

Just look at the human family alone; where we’ve discovered tens of thousands of fossils (representing at least 6,000 individuals) linking humans and chimps.
Most of the arguments for our common ancestry with ape-like creatures are based upon similarity, in anatomy and DNA sequence. Yet there needs to be:

        1. A step-wise adaptive path from the ancestral form to the new form. That will include either new genes, new proteins, or a new species. As we understand you, the ape-like ancestor acquired some characteristic which then became fixed in the population, because changes in the DNA genetic recipe or blueprint happened. Do you refer to Lamarckianism that even Darwin believed? How did the genetic program of ape-like ancestors change?

        2. Random mutations could not do it. There needs to be enough time and resources for neo-Darwinian processes to accomplish the great changes that were needed (A Gauger, D Axe and C Luskin, Science & Human Origins, Discovery Institute Press, 2012, location 205 to 489 of 2460). Durrett and Schmidt estimated that for a single mutation (one of the many to change the ape-like ancestor to a human) to occur in a nucleotide-binding site and be fixed in a primate lineage would require a waiting time of six million years (the full estimated time of human evolution). The many mutations would take many millions of years (R Durrett and D Schmidt, ‘Waiting for two mutations: With applications to regulatory sequence evolution and the limits of Darwinian evolution,’ Genetics 180(2008):1501-1509).

        3. How many mutations were necessary to change the ape-like ancestor to upright, running, conscious humans? Speech also had no survival value for the apes (ape-like ancestor), so how did it become selected and fixed as a part of the human exceptional character?

        4. Ernest Mayer demonstrated that there are limits to change. As you probably know Lenski and his team have been doing experiments with thousands of generations of bacteria (R Dawkins, The Greatest Show on Earth, Bantam Press, 2009, p 117-131). There has been no report that a new kind of bacteria evolved. They adapt to different substrates, but that is not Darwinian evolution. So far there has never been conclusive proof that new kinds of organisms evolved. True, nobody denies that adaptation takes place, but that is only within kinds. Some people call it micro evolution, while Darwinian evolution is supposed to be macro evolution. S Meyer in his book, Signature in the Cell, discusses the many problems with the naturalistic increase in genetic information. He elaborates on it in Darwin’s Dilemma.

And that’s not even mentioning the literally billions of stone tools that show a progression from chimp technology to that of modern humans.
Rocks can sing any song you want. Give the science, and we believe. As it is, there is still no scientific proof for human evolution, or for that matter, any other kind of Darwinian evolution. It has to be believed by faith in Darwin. Remarks about creationists don’t solve the scientific problems either.

Logically if someone believes in human evolution, fine. To call it ‘science,’ where science has to do with testable, repeatable, observable experiments, is stretching the limits of the scientific enterprise a bit far. For the time being, until solid scientific proof has been rendered that proves evolution true, we believe both you and the Pope are wrong.

        Blessings

  2. WAS PETER THE FIRST POPE? BY STEVE FINNELL

Was the apostle Peter the first Pope of the Roman Catholic Church? A few reasons why Peter was not the first Pope.

Peter was not Pope because there is no office of Pope mentioned in the Scriptures. Peter was not the first Pope of the Roman Catholic Church because there is no Roman Catholic Church mentioned in the Bible.

Peter was not a Pope because the apostles were not in subjection to him.

2 Corinthians 11:5 For I consider myself not in the least inferior to the most eminent apostles. 2 Corinthians 12:11 I have become foolish; you yourselves compelled me. Actually I should have been commended by you, for in no respect was I inferior to the most eminent apostles, even though I am a nobody.

Not only was the apostle Paul not in subjection to Peter, he reprimanded Peter in Antioch.

Galatians 2:11-21 But when Cephas came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he stood condemned….14 But when I saw that they were not straightforward about the truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas in the presence of all, “If you, being a Jew, live like the Gentiles and not like the Jews, how is it that you compel the Gentiles to live like Jews?….

Peter was not Paul’s superior. (Cephas was Peter, John 1:42)

Peter was not a Pope, because he did not believe that the Virgin Mary was a mediator between men and God nor did he offer up prayers to her.

1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,

Peter was not a Pope, because he did not pray to any saints dead or alive. Prayer is worship.

Matthew 4:10 Then Jesus said to him, “Go Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and serve Him only !”

Peter was not the first Pope, because he refuse to let men bow down and kiss his ring in an act of worship.

Acts 10:25-26 When Peter entered, Cornelius met him. fell at his feet and worshiped him. 26 But Peter raised him up, saying, “Stand up; I too am just a man.”

Peter was not the first Pope because he did not referred to himself as the Chief Shepherd or head of the church of Christ. The Chief Shepherd and head of the church is Jesus Christ and Jesus alone.(Colossians 1:13-19, 1 Peter 5:1-4, Hebrews 13″20, Ephesians 1:20-23, Matthew 28:18-20, Ephesians 5:22-24.)

Peter was not the first Pope nor was he ever a Pope.
