Listening on YouTube to atheist conferences and other presentations, one is struck by the constant derision of the Bible and the insistence that atheism will win the day. We want to give atheists the assurance that it is not necessary to shout down Christians or get excited about God and the Bible. Professor Daniel Dennett was completely right when he said atheists will win the war against God and the Bible. The reason they will win is because the Bible says so.
An uncanny thing about the Bible, the Book of Truth, is that it predicted things we see happening before our eyes. Around 30 AD Jesus asked, ‘…when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?’ 1 He was referring to His second coming, which comes nearer with every decade. So we can expect an increase in atheism, and a sharp decline of faith in Him. That is what is happening.
Similarly Jesus also predicted, ‘Enter through the narrow gate….small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.’ 2 It is another indication that atheists will be in the majority and believers in the minority. Atheists need not get excited, or shout down Bible believers. Those who often post noxious, blasphemous content against the Bible and God on the internet, can relax. They can celebrate! Jesus predicted their victory in this life.
In the parable of the sower 3 Jesus explained that of every four people who hear the Gospel, only one will believe and stand firm. Again, it shows that non-belief (atheism) is the winner. All of this should comfort atheists tremendously. Their work is not in vain. They will overpower the ‘darkness’ of ‘religion.’
We do, however, have a hitch or two.
- Atheists believe that the Bible is a myth. So will they believe Jesus’ encouraging predictions that they will win the war against God and His people on this side of the grave? Will they believe it even if it comes from the book they claim is not true?
- Atheists don’t believe the Bible’s claim that there is life after death. So why are they so anxious to convert ‘religious’ people? Why do they go to the trouble to give lectures, take part in debates, hold rallies, et cetera to influence Bible believers to accept atheism? If it is true that there is no life after death, what does it matter what one believes in this life? You can believe in the God of the Bible, nothing, Zeus, UFO’s, extraterrestrials, Mormonism, Buddhism, anything you want to. Who cares what you do and believe if there is no life after death?
- Why do atheists consistently attack the only historical book that explains there is life after death, the Bible?
These things make one think. Can it be that the Bible is maybe not fiction but fact?
